A digital report card is the end product of a school's academic assessment process, generated automatically by the school management system rather than handwritten or typed by teachers individually. It pulls data from multiple sources within the SMS: continuous assessment scores entered by subject teachers throughout the term, final examination marks, attendance records, class position calculations, and teacher comments. The system applies the school's defined grading scale and CA-to-examination weighting to compute final grades, calculates class averages and student rankings, and formats everything according to the school's report template — including logo, school colours, headteacher signature block, and any ministry-required sections. Digital report cards eliminate the labour-intensive manual process of handwriting hundreds of individual reports and the transcription errors that come with it. They can be distributed as PDFs through the parent portal or via WhatsApp, or printed on school letterhead.
